    Dr. Alex Cojocar, Practice Owner

    Dr. Alexander Cojocar has been the owner of the Hackettstown Animal Hospital since 1980. He graduated with High Honors from Michigan State University in 1977 receiving his doctor of veterinary medicine degree as well as a B.S. in poultry science.  As a small animal veterinarian, he enjoys working with various exotics and birds and has expertise in internal medicine and dentistry.

    Dr. Cojocar has worked extensively with the Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ and has recently attended a national conference receiving advanced surgical training. He values his love for animals, communication skills and equally important, dedicated service to his patients.    

    Dr. Cojocar lives on a small horse and tree farm in Hope Township with his wife Deborah and his daughter, recent Rutgers graduate, Lauren. They breed Morgan horses having five at home with five more at training facilities in New Jersey and Ohio.  Rounding out the family are two cherished and spoiled English Setters and three rescued barn cats.

  • Dr. Susan Bahr

    Dr. Susan Bahr

    Dr. Susan Bahr graduated with a B.S. Summa cum laude in Animal Science from Cook College/Rutgers University. She received her DVM degree with Honors from The Ohio State University in 1994. She had been practicing small animal medicine at the Hackettstown Animal Hospital since 1994. Her interests include internal medicine and pediatrics.

    Dr. Susan grew up in Sparta, NJ and currently resides in Hunterdon County on a small farm with her husband John and daughter Jillian.  She has 7 dogs, 2 horses, 2 cats, and 2 hermit crabs.

    Dr. Susan enjoys figure skating, running, horseback riding, and kayaking in addition to photography and digital scrapbooking.

  • Dr. Kris Kiracofe

    Dr. Kris Kiracofe

    Dr. Kris Kiracofe graduated with a B.S. in Agriculture from Ohio State University and received her DVM degree from The University of Tennessee in 1988.  She joined Hackettstown Animal Hospital in 1988 and enjoys working as a small animal veterinarian. Her interests include surgery, geriatrics, and dermatology.

    Dr. Kris was raised on a dairy farm in southwestern Ohio and currently resides in Mansfield Township, NJ with her dog and two cats.  Her hobbies include gardening and landscaping projects on her property as well as caring for about 100 houseplants.

  • Dr. Joan Tyminski

    Dr. Joan Tyminski

    Dr. Joan Tyminski holds a B.S. and doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Michigan State University. She has been in general practice since 1982 and has a special interest in holistic medicine (Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and supplements) and gives support for her aging patients through nutrition.

    Born and raised in Ridgefield, Connecticut, she now resides in Mount Arlington, NJ with her husband Steve of 20 years and he son Timothy. She has two Border Terriers, Scooter and Chloe who keep her on her toes.

    Dr. Tyminski loves to read, camp, trek, and travel (especially the Thousand Islands). Even after 25 years, she still finds her profession exciting and enjoys learning new things to benefit her patients.
